Announcing DCWW Jobseekers’ Support Group!!

Announcing the first meeting of the DCWW Jobseekers’ Support Group!! The JSGs are regular support network for unemployed DCWW members where they can meet and network with other members in the same situation.

The first meeting of the DCWW Jobseekers’ Support Group will take place on February 25 at 10:00 am at Chinatown Coffee, 476 H Street NW. (Note – if we receive an overwhelming response we may move to a larger venue). We will announce a second, evening date for those who can’t attend during the day. The group is open to any DC Web Woman who has been laid off from her most recent job.

This meeting will be primarily for brainstorming about how group members can best support each other. We will discuss topics including how to maintain contact between formal meetings, ways to network and share job leads and survival tips such as where to find free training opportunities. We will also solicit ideas for other resources the group would like to have and how those resources could be provided at minimal or no cost. Lastly, we will get a sense of whether day or evening meetings work best for the majority ongoing and how often the group would like to meet.
