7 Steps to Greater Life Adventures -- Part 2

5. Make Bold Decisions

People who act in a bold manner -- and don't let fear stop them -- experience strange and unusual happenings. That old expression "you create your own luck" holds true here. When we decide upon what we want and begin taking steps towards it, then nothing can hold us back.

Mary (not her real name) was a writer I knew in Florida. She desperately wanted to publish a book. After she graduated, she rented herself a low-cost no-frills apartment, lived on the cheap and spent her days and nights writing and editing her book. Many years have passed, and she now has more than one published book to her name and a good job as a result of her hard work.

Reading about prosperity at another coach's website, I learned the story of "David." His Mac's mouse and keyboard died; he decided he wanted to replace the two for less than $50. He visited a shop that carried refurbished parts, and the salesman said the price would be $25 for the mouse and about $40 for the keyboard. These parts are not easy to find. David thought about asking if the shop would accept $50 for both and then decided against it. When he got the sales slip back, it said "$42.84." David laughed and asked if that was correct. The salesperson said yes and that he'd decided not to charge for the mouse.

What these two stories have in common is INTENTION. Each of the people in the above stories set their intention and then allowed their intention to come to reality.

What intentions would you like to set today?

6. Law of Attraction

Whatever you think about in life multiplies.

Have you ever had a time in life when you got into a lot of car accidents? Or had a seemingly large number of mishaps such as stumbling, spraining an ankle, etc?

Conversely, have you ever had a time when all seemed to go well? You received unexpected money in unusual ways? Someone who never takes you to lunch does? You get asked to do something (submit poems, write a column, etc.) and you don't even know how that person knew about you?

That's because we attract what we think about. If you think about creativity, you'll attract creative ideas and encounters. If you think about starting your business, you'll begin to meet the people you need to meet and to find the classes you need to take. The power is that when you shift your mind, you shift your life and, as a result, you expand the possibilities available to you.

7. Cultivate and Express Gratitude

"Gratitude precedes joy." — Julio Olalla

One of my wise teachers said those words above. Without gratitude, we can't have joy in our lives.

Express your gratitude, and you'll begin to see a shift in yourself. You can get yourself into a better mood by writing or saying what gives you a grateful feeling. The day will look a little nicer. The rain won't bug you so much. That difficult person in human resources won't seem as difficult. The fact you lost your job might look like a blessing. The roses might look more gorgeous than they did last year.

When you express your gratitude, you put more good out there in the world and in the planet. Have you been waiting to thank someone? Do that today! I did that today when I thanked all of you for being here with me! Keep expressing gratitude and begin to note what happens for and in you.
