Member Spotlight: Gayley Knight
List Mom Gayley Knightthe one who sends gentle reminders on inappropriate postsis this month's featured wrrl. She is a partner in Connecting Links, a five-year-old website consulting and development firm. Gayley started her professional career as a teacher. Now much of the work she does with clients involves educating them about transforming their websites into effective business tools. This carries over to WEBurbs, the cable TV show she hosts and produces on how businesses can optimize their online presence.
Gayley's love of learning new things brought her to the web. She taught herself HTML and went on to master Dreamweaver and Photoshop. She first learned her trade as a volunteer figuring out web strategies and design for non-profits.
Gayley has an extensive background in community service volunteering. For over 25 years, she has been active in a variety of causes. In addition to her role in DCWW, she writes a newsletter for Montgomery County Women Business Owners, is a member of the Tech Committee of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce, has served on the Board of Association for Women in Computing, and is a member of many other professional and civic organizations. Given Gayley's philanthropic bent, it is not surprising that she has been a presenter at the Philanthropy News Network Convention at the D.C. Convention Center.

In a past life, Gayley owned a contemporary American crafts shop, which collaborated with the Guild As her firm focuses on audience strategy, usability, web editing, content development, writing and editing, project management and site architecture, sites she frequently visits include Nielsen Gayley is married to a criminal attorney and comes from four generations of lawyers. Her client base includes law firms, and she checks Martindale Hubbell For fun she likes Oxygen When not online, Gayley is busy renovating her house and archiving family history and photos.
