Hello there! My name is Leslie Forte and I've been involved with DCWW since 1996 (wow, has it really been seven years!?). I've participated in many different capacities -- first as a list administrator, then as a workshop organizer and next as the Technology Chair. As I begin my second term Tech Chair, I am responsible for all areas of DCWW technology -- our webserver and website, mailing list, domain, etc. DCWW holds such a special place in my heart and I wanted to remain active in some capacity, I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve on our Board of Directors.

9 to 5 (most days!) I can be found as the Manager of Web Operations for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. I've recently moved out of the day-to-day technical arena (where I worked as a UNIX Systems Administrator) and into management (gulp!), and so far, I really love it. We've got a great team of people here (including former DCWW President, Alycia Eck!) and the environment is a great place for growth and learning. It's fantastic to be able to share some of the technical and business knowledge that I've gained from my work with DC Web Women. At the same time, I'm hoping to utilize some of my new-found collaboration insights and project management skills in my position with the Board.
