Workshop Policies

When a workshop is announced on the list, please respond directly to the Workshop Coordinator who posted the Announcement. Do not attempt the following:

  • Do not forward Workshop announcements to non-DC Web Women members. The Workshop Coordinator in charge will compare the emailed requests for a reserved spot with the list membership. There are no exceptions to this rule.
  • Do not request to reserve a spot for you and a co-worker, family member, sister, dog, cat, whatever. One email equals one reserved chair.
  • Do not reserve a spot if you are sorta kinda sure that you might be able to make it.

If you CANNOT make it, please give the workshop coordinator in charge 24 hour advance notice so that she may contact the Waiting list. If you do this much, you are a responsible, considerate member. If you don't, you will have the honor of being added to the Blackball list: an elite group of women who cannot attend workshops for 2 months because they couldn't be bothered to call.

When the class is full, a second Announcement will be posted to the list stating that the workshop is CLOSED and listing those members that have reserved spots and those who are on the waiting list.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this. We just want everyone to have a better sense of how Workshops and reservations will be handled in the future.
