Our Mission
The New York Code + Design Academy offers hands-on, intensive courses designed to teach aspiring programmers and designers how to build their own fully functioning websites and applications. We were founded on the belief that an understanding of the languages that power the internet is critical to maintaining a competitive edge in today’s digital economy. Our mission is to make programming education accessible to people of all ages and experience levels.
Our Classes
We offer dozens of different classes in different formats, but our primary offering falls into three different categories: full-time, part-time, and summer camps.
Full-Time
Our Web Development Intensive is our most comprehensive program that runs full-time for 12 weeks, and teaches beginner-level students how to be a full-stack web developer. (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails)
We also have a UI/UX Intensive that runs for 8 weeks, and covers the complete User Experience design process, with introduction to UX Tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision.
Part-Time
These evening courses meet twice a week for 8 weeks, except for the Part Time Intensive, which meets for 24 weeks.
Web Development 100 – beginner level HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Front End 101 – intermediate/advanced HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Ruby on Rails 101 – Ruby, Rails, Databases
iOS Development 101 – Apple’s language Swift, and apps for iPhone + iPad
UI/UX Design 101 – no coding, but theoretical knowledge of application design
Summer Code Camps
The camps take place each year in July and August and cover web development basics and some specialty areas like game design or hardware programming. They run in 2 and 4 week blocks, and fall under different age groups for Kids, Teens, and Adults. Camps may be offered in some, but not necessarily all age groups
